Group therapy provides an environment where you are able to share and connect with others who are experiencing similar challenges while at the same time you a taught adaptive ways of coping. There are different types of group therapy, some are more focused on sharing stories and providing support where other are more informational and emphasize skill development. Some groups are based on a specific therapy such as DBT or CBT, and use the group format as a way to teach skills and to also learn from the experience of others.
